EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ORGANIZATION

OUR HISTORY

Emergency Management Organization (EMO) began in the summer of 1988 and was sponsored by the Ohio Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians, OHACEP.

In December of 1997, EMO became a independent entity as a 501-C not-for-profit organization.

Founding members were Jane Cain, Marty Gillespie, Arlene Kent, Fran Voll and Suzann Wehner.

The 2007 EMO Board of Directors created the "FOUNDERS AWARD". The FOUNDERS AWARD was developed to recognize an EMO member's individual contributions in accordance with the misson of EMO.

A special plaque and monetary gift of educational value are given to the recipient.

Nominations can be submitted at any time. Selection of the recipient will be at the discretion of the Board. If an eligible candidate is indentified, the recipient will be announced at the annual Fall Coding and Reimbursement Seminar. 

Nominations must be in writing relating the person's contributions to education or professional advancement to emergency medicine coding and reimbursement which make them an eligible candidate for the FOUNDERS AWARD.
